Andover is a thriving market town in the beautiful county of Hampshire. It’s ideally located, sitting 18 miles west of Basingstoke, 15 miles north-west of Winchester and 25 miles north of Southampton. There are a number of military bases in the vicinity and Andover remains a popular place to settle for personnel stationed nearby.
There’s a direct national rail line to London, Waterloo. Trains leave every 30 minutes and the journey takes around 80 mins at present. Road connections are excellent as the M3 and M4 offer fast, direct routes into London.
Many of the buildings in Andover date back to the 18th century when the town was a stopover for stagecoaches travelling to London. Properties range from thatched cottages to Victorian town houses to the new build developments. There’s a street market every Thursday and Saturday on the High Street, and a Museum of the Iron Age in the town centre. The Lights is a contemporary arts centre offering music, theatre, workshops and comedy.
