Perth removal FAQs

The transit time for your belongings depends on the shipping method you choose:

  • Full Container Load (FCL) – If you opt for a dedicated container, your shipment will typically arrive in Perth within 6 to 8 weeks. This is generally the fastest option.
  • Shared Container Load (Groupage) – Sharing a container with other shipments is a more economical choice, but it can take a bit longer, usually around 10 to 12 weeks.

Your move coordinator will be able to provide a more precise estimate based on your specific circumstances and chosen shipping method.

Creating a comprehensive shipping inventory is a crucial part of our service.

Here’s how it works:

  • Detailed Recording – When our team packs your belongings, they carefully record each item on an inventory list. This includes a description of the item, its condition, and any special packing requirements.
  • Peace of Mind – This detailed inventory provides you with a record of everything that’s being shipped, giving you peace of mind and making it easier to track your belongings.
  • Insurance Purposes –The inventory also plays an important role in the unlikely event that you need to make an insurance claim.

You’ll receive a copy of the inventory for your records, and we’ll use it to check your shipment at every stage of the journey.

Protecting your belongings is our top priority.

Here’s how we do it:

  • Expert Packing – Our professional packing teams are trained in the best techniques for securing your items for international transit. We use high-quality, durable materials and proven methods to keep everything protected.
  • Purpose-Built Vehicles – We use modern removals vehicles with specialised suspension systems designed to minimise movement and vibrations during the journey. This helps prevent damage to your belongings, even on long journeys.
  • Secure Handling – Your belongings are handled with care every step of the way, from loading and unloading to containerisation and shipping.
  • Continuous Monitoring – We track your shipment throughout its journey, so we always know where it is and can ensure its safety.

You can relax knowing that your possessions are in safe hands with Schepens.

Australia has strict biosecurity laws to protect its unique natural environment. Here’s what you need to know about importing your belongings:

  • Restricted Items – Certain items are prohibited or restricted, including food, plants, animal products, and some medications. It’s important to familiarise yourself with these restrictions before you pack.
  • Quarantine Inspection -Your belongings may be inspected by Australian Quarantine officers upon arrival.
  • Declaration – You’ll need to complete an Incoming Passenger Card accurately declaring any items you’re bringing into Australia.
  • Schepens Assistance – We can provide guidance on Australian customs regulations and help you prepare the necessary documentation to ensure a smooth clearance process.

Australia uses a different voltage and plug type than the UK. Here’s what you need to consider:

  • Voltage – Australia uses 230-240 volts, while the UK uses 230 volts. Most modern appliances are dual voltage but check the label or manual to be sure.
  • Plug Type – Australia uses Type I plugs with three flat pins. You’ll need adapters or new plugs for your UK appliances.
  • Amp Capacity – UK plugs are compatible with up to 13 amps but Australian plugs are just 10 amps. If you’re using devices requiring more than 10 amps, you may blow a few fuses!
  • Transformers – For appliances that are not dual voltage, you’ll need a transformer to convert the voltage.
