Moving to Boston
Boston is the oldest city in America, so there’s an impressive list of ‘1sts’ associated with it. It’s home to the 1st lighthouse to be built in America, on Brewster Island. Boston Common is the 1st public park to open in America – back in 1634. And the first subway ever was built here in 1897. Now Boston is very much a 21st city and home to some of the world’s largest employers in finance, life sciences and technology.
Schepens has been providing removals to Boston for over a century now, and we thoroughly enjoy our visits to this city drenched in history and culture. We’re aware that many of our clients have been surprised at the differences they’ve experienced between UK and US culture. We asked some of them, now resident in the city, to share their tips for families and professionals moving to the city.
